My Research

Intimate Partner Violence Shelters

Exploring Accessibility

My current research focus is on accessibility within IPV/DV Shelters.  My co-author, Dr. Radscheda Nobles, and I are working on several papers related to accessibility in shelters.  We are in the middle of surveying regional shelters across 6 states and analyzing publically available information regarding what barriers to access exist.

Department of Veteran's Affairs and Dissertation

My dissertation focused on exploring a benefit deficit created by the Department of Veteran's Affairs for veterans.  This project is something I am still passionate about as I work on exploring new avenues of data anlysis using ArcGIS.

CryptoKitties

One of the projects I am working on this year is looking at cryptocurrency as an extension of capitalism.  Specifically, the gamification of currency through avenues such as cryptokitties.

Religiosity

I am interested in continuing working on a paper that explores religiosity's impact on persistance and desistance from crime over the life course.  I am still looking for an appropriate data set to continue this work.
